I love picking out cards. But gone are the days of leisurely looking through the card aisle for just the right thing. Usually, I am grabbing bunches of cards from the checkout line at Trader Joe's. At least they are cute!
But now, my card sending world has been revolutionized! There is an app called "Just Wink". It is run by the 3XMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08714963008876367395noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601606375627781205.post-36210996734695128612013-02-11T08:49:00.002-05:002013-02-11T08:49:56.350-05:00BustedA few weeks ago, I had to work late two nights in a row. That meant DH was in charge of dinner - a fact that made the kids squeal, because they know Daddy will give them what they like for dinner. And he did. One night they had pancakes and one night they had pizza. But a day or so later I am talking to Big Man, and he is complaining about one of Daddy's dinners. It was part of a lesson about the role of girls in the world, and I think could be a great self-esteem booster for these little women.
Basically, we spent part of the meeting talking about adjectives that you use to describe people. If I don't have to look at another paint roller for a few months, that would be good. I say we sort of finished painting her room, because we really should still do the trim. This room has light blue trim around the windows, doors, on the doors, and along the floor trim. I just can't handle more painting now. As she moves into those "tween" years, I know she will start to pull away, and I am hoping to keep as much communication open over these years. About a year ago, I saw the idea to start a journal with your kids. I thought about it, and even mentioned it to 3XMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08714963008876367395noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601606375627781205.post-21989642858081768102013-01-09T07:00:00.000-05:002013-01-09T07:00:03.652-05:00When My Kids Get a PhoneMy 10 year old DESPERATELY wants a phone. That is ridiculous. She has absolutely no need for a phone. Together we could only come up with one place she could ever need a phone and not have access to one - on the occasions where I drop her off early at her softball field and she is there without her coach/team. Otherwise, there is always a responsible adult around who she 3XMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08714963008876367395noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601606375627781205.post-24273221806242500162013-01-07T09:50:00.000-05:002013-01-07T09:50:07.390-05:00SewingIn the last few months, I've done a few easy sewing projects. I made our family Christmas pajamas this year, after finding the most simple instructions possible! These instructions are FABULOUS! So easy - no pattern required! LOVE that kind of sewing. Patterns tend to flummox me. These were easy peasy. Basically two seams, and an elastic waist and you are done.3XMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08714963008876367395noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601606375627781205.post-19276188084056924212013-01-02T08:23:00.005-05:002013-01-02T08:23:53.338-05:00Welcome to 2013ok, its 2013. I am going to try and get back on this blogging bandwagon. Spent the winter break doing house projects. LOTS of house projects. First, we had most of the downstairs painted. That meant moving lots of junk and clearing spaces..with 48 hours notice. It was a little nuts, but looks great!!!! Love my new gray dining room and sage kitchen.

So, of course, we decided to clean out the refrigerator. We were inspired by this picture we found on Pinterest (if you haven't tried pinning, you are missing out!)This is what our fridge looked like before. Just 2 weeks ago we made our last daycare payment. After 9 years of daycare payments, we are finally free. Think of the money! Well, the universe quickly took care of that. First, our car died. Totally died, leaving me at work stranded, when I was supposed to pick up all three kids and get two of them to 3XMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08714963008876367395noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601606375627781205.post-37360426963767695802011-06-16T09:15:00.004-04:002011-06-22T08:50:00.950-04:00How To Store All Those Cool IdeasHave you heard of Pinterest? It is soooo great! It is a place where you can store all the great ideas (recipes, crafts, decorating, gifts, etc) that you find online, and categorize them and make them easy to find! You can also see what others are "pinning" and "repin" their stuff too! I love it, and has really freed up all my saved internet pages and "starred" google reader stuff. For example, 3XMomhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08714963008876367395noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6601606375627781205.post-8847144727974883582011-06-15T08:47:00.003-04:002011-06-15T09:59:35.987-04:00Get Your Day Started RightI am back on WW. And I am actually following the program, so that's always good. ;) The hardest thing for me was breakfast. I was having a light yogurt every morning, and while it was low it points, it also made me hungry by 10am.At my WW meeting, someone mentioned oatmeal. Now I have NEVER been a hot cereal type of gal. I am a HUGE sucker for random Americana. World's largest ball of twine? Awesome! Foamhenge? Can't wait to go. So we had to stop and see the world's largest picnic basket that also happens to be an office building! I know! so cool! It is the headquarters of Longaberger - a company that makes baskets, of course. Is this awesome or what? We took the RV and went on an adventure to see 3 major league ballparks. She invited 8 girls from school, and only 6 were able to come. Awesome!Second, we kept it simple. The girls were "making" three dishes.
