Best Hot Chocolate Ever

So with the cold weather, hot chocolate is a must. To make a proper cup of hot chocolate you need 3 things - milk (NEVER make hot chocolate with water. ick. Always use warm milk - or half & half - or cream if you must, but never water); cocoa powder, and Bailey. The variety of Bailey's is up to you - I prefer caramel Baileys - but original or mint work well too. Heat milk, pour over cocoa, add Baileys. YUMMMMMMMMMM! That says winter to me!

Blizzard-apalooza

So the DC area got hit by something like 16 inches of snow - a record for December and very unusual. The two plows did the best they could, but we still have lots of snow. The kids enjoyed sledding, although making a snowman proved difficult as this was the powdery kind of snow, and not the mushy kind. Hopefully we will make one tomorrow, as school is closed. They better have school Tues and Wed as I have LOTS of wrapping and such to do that I cannot do when they are home!!!

Christmastime is Here!

This was a perfect weekend for getting ready for Christmas! It even snowed! We put up the tree, put out a little version of the Christmas village, lit the porch and inflated Frosty in the front yard. It was great. I am really in the Christmas spirit! How 'bout you?

Thanks for the Memories

Big Man's summary of Thanksgiving:

  • I had Turkey (he did not - he refused to even try)
  • I went to Grampa's
  • Grampa has a dog
  • I ate a donut

Crafting it Up!

I have been doing all kinds of crafts for Christmas. And there are so many great ideas to be had online. My favorite one is One Pretty Thing. It finds all the best ones from the whole webisphere and puts them together. Great ideas every day - without having to visit millions of blogs.

Of all the things we have found, so far we have made this:

Lots more to go!

Still want to make these: boa feather tree - the girls will LOVE these!, memory ornament - isn't that the best idea!!, awesome ornament for some new babies friends are having,

Happy to get betting my crafting groove on again! That's what works for me this Christmas! For more Works for Me Ideas - visit: http://www.wearethatfamily.com/
